We focus on scholastic development, personal growth, and ethical enrichment.
SLC was established in September 1983 as an educational collaborative with a Board of Directors who serve as area superintendents. We are a private non-profit special education out of district placement.
We have four separate programs:

High School Program (Diploma granting )
Skills Program
We offer programs for students ages 6-21 years of age with the following disabilities:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Intellectual and Neurological Deficits
- Emotional and Behavioral Disorders
- Other Health Impairments
- Mental Health Disorders including Depression, Anxiety, Trauma
- Speech and Language Disabilities
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Multiple Disabilities
- Development Delays
- Intellectual disabilities

SLC educators are content and special education certified. In addition we hire the following specialists:

- Art Therapists
- Trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
- Yoga/mindful Therapist
In addition, we consult with BCBA’s as needed and we have a therapy dog.
