Group counseling occurs through our Adventure Based Learning Experience (ABLE) Program.
ABLE is a challenge by choice program. As students move through a variety of cooperative games, as well as low and high elements, they experience the group in a way unique to them.
Some of our offerings include:
Low Elements
- Triangle Traverse
- Mohawk Walk
- Swinging Log
High Elements
- Climbing Wall
- Zipline
- Swingshot
Group activities
- Masquerade
- Sportsball
- Tea-Time Kitties
This variety of offerings provided by our highly motivated ABLE facilitators demonstrates our commitment to challenge by choice. Participation at any level – partial, observational, or full – and the chance to become active listeners who encourage their classmates allows students to step out of their comfort zones and into new opportunities.
Through adventure and the outdoors, activities will help participants work together to achieve the groups’ common goals. Quarterly sessions are available to student families. In addition, our resources are also available for custom group programming for interested parties (school groups, summer camps, leadership retreats, and more).
Group Counseling Services
Group counseling services occur through the Adventure Based Learning Experiences (ABLE) Program. Consistent with individual student IEP goals, all Seacoast Learning Collaborative students participate in weekly and/or biweekly ABLE sessions. Groups build trust in themselves and each other over time as they solve cooperative games and progress through the Low and High Elements.
